HOUSING

 

The Redevelopment Authority's Housing Redevelopment Program (HRP) promotes affordable housing in Montgomery County by making financial and technical assistance available to eligible developers on a project specific basis.  Assistance may take the form of:  low cost loans and grants for acquisition, construction, renovation or other development costs; closing costs and down payment assistance; rental subsidies; assistance with marketing and other support services; and technical assistance.

To support these activities, the Redevelopment Authority may utilize:

            (a)  Proceeds from taxable and tax-exempt obligations issued by the Redevelopment Authority in either public offerings or direct placements;

            (b)  Federal departments, agencies and corporations, such as the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Federal Housing Administration, the Federal Home Loan Banks, and the Federal National Mortgage Association;

            (c)  Departments and agencies of the Commonwealth, such as the Department of Community and Economic Development and the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency;

             (d)   The County and its departments and agencies and local governments in the County and their agencies:

              (e)  Banks and other institutions, pursuant to regulatory programs promoting housing and community investment by such institutions;

             (f)  Charitable and other institutions formed for the promotion of social welfare and housing, community, and economic development, and

               (g)  Other funding available to the Redevelopment Authority from time to time.
